U.S. California Shaolin Cultural Center Celebrates "Songshan Shaolin Temple Day"

In order to promote Shaolin culture, the Senate and the House of Representatives of California, the United States, respectively passed unanimous votes in 2004 and 2009, designating March 21st of each year as "Songshan Shaolin Temple Day", and allowing celebration activities to be carried out.
To celebrate this special day, a series of celebration activities are organized and hosted by the Shaolin Cultural Center in California, the United States, in conjunction with the United States Kung Fu Federation, Shaolin Temple Cultural Center USA, Shaolin Warrior Academy, U.S. Kung Fu Center, Shaolin Temple Kung Fu Center, Shaolin Kungfu Yuan, MA-Trainer Studio and Shaolin Kungfu Chan Academy. These activities aim to enable more local people to understand the benefits of the thousand-year-old Zen, martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine culture of Shaolin Temple for physical and mental health, and to promote the dissemination and development of Shaolin culture in the local area.
As the ancestral temple of Chinese Buddhist Chan (Zen) Buddhism, Shaolin Temple is also the birthplace of Shaolin Kung Fu and is renowned worldwide for its long-standing culture of Zen, martial arts, and traditional Chinese medicine. Shaolin Kung Fu is not merely a form of martial arts but also a way of cultivation, embodying the organic integration of Zen wisdom and traditional Chinese culture. It plays a positive role in promoting the physical and mental health of humanity.
This celebration event includes a variety of rich and colorful activities such as Shaolin Kung Fu performances, Shaolin Zen archery experiences, Shaolin Zen meditation experiences, and the practice of Shaolin health-preserving exercises. It provides local people with an opportunity to fully experience the charm of Shaolin culture in all aspects.
It is hoped that through this event, Shaolin culture can be further rooted in the local area and integrated into the local community. Also, it is expected that more people can benefit from it and improve their physical and mental health. (Text and Photos: Shaolin Cultural Center in California, the United States)
